The drama premiered on June 29 with only 0.948 percent but it gained attention among viewers due to its storyline:
“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” starred Park Eun-bin, Kang Tae-oh and Kang Ki-young. Park Eun-bin played the role of Woo Young-woo, an attorney with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who works in a law firm.
In the Seoul metropolitan area, the final episode of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” got a rating of 19.210 percent, also the drama’s own highest rating in its run, and watched by 2.27 million viewers.
Channel ENA, which aired the drama, gave special gifts to 500 people who watched episodes 15 and 16 through a lottery. Among the prizes it gave were one MacBook Air with M2, Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptop, one hotel accommodation, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, iPhone 13 Pro, watch and round-trip tickets to Jeju Island to six persons.
The production company behind the drama announced on Aug. 17 that “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” will have a second season that is set to air in 2024.
On Netflix, “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” entered at No. 8 on the streaming giant’s most popular non-English shows list with 288.62 million hours viewed in the first 28 days on the platform.
It ranked No. 1 on the Netflix chart for the period Aug. 8 to 14 with 69.3 million hours viewed. It placed in the top 10 in 51 countries and regions including No. 1 in Bolivia, Peru, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam.
